HUBx – Event Operations Platform with Smartwatch & App Integration
HUBx is a real-time event operations platform built by and for event professionals. It connects smartwatches, mobile apps, and a central HUB to streamline complex workflows.
We partnered with the client from the ground up, handling the UX and UI design of the entire web platform. From building the core structure to designing each module and system interface, our goal was to create a tool that works seamlessly in high-pressure, real-world event environments.

Problem Statement
Event operators often juggle multiple systems, manual processes, and fragmented communication tools, leading to inefficiencies and blind spots during critical operations:
❌   Lack of real-time coordination
Most tools used in the industry fail to offer live, actionable insights across large event teams and venues, making it hard to respond quickly or proactively manage issues.
❌   Disconnected tools and systems
From planning to execution, there was no single platform that connected staffing, incident management, deployment, and reporting into one unified workflow.
❌   No existing UX foundation
When we joined, there was no product design, no structure, and no documentation. The platform needed to be built from scratch while evolving in real-time with the client's vision.
❌   Complex integration with hardware
The platform needed to sync seamlessly with HUBx’s smartwatches and mobile app, aggregating field data and syncing it with the command center for true situational awareness.
How We Solved It
We co-created HUBx in real time with the founders, adapting as the product evolved. Breaking the 18 modules into functional groups, we mapped user journeys for event staff, team leads, and suppliers.

Our work included:

  • Defining IA, UX flows, and UI from scratch

  • Designing scalable, interchangeable modules

  • Creating dashboards for planning and live operations

  • Building smartwatch and mobile interfaces synced with the web hub

  • Delivering dev-ready Figma files throughout rapid iterations
Design System & Guidelines
To support rapid iteration, we built a flexible design system with clear type hierarchy and UI patterns tailored for real-time, high-visibility use.

Each module followed UX flows, making the platform easy to learn and use across roles. The design worked seamlessly in both dark and light environments used in control rooms and field operations.
Visual Output
HUBx’s design is built for mission-critical moments. Whether teams are checking in staff, reporting an incident, or viewing deployment maps in live event mode, every screen is designed for speed, legibility, and minimal friction.

The modular interface ensures operators can customize views while maintaining consistency. From the smartwatch interface to the central control dashboard, the visual experience is tight, clear, and intuitive.
Conclusion
HUBx redefines how events are managed on the ground. It gives operators full control and real-time insight through connected devices and a unified platform, turning chaos into coordination.

We brought this vision to life by building the platform from scratch with no documentation and no fluff—just focused design thinking applied to real-world complexity.
